Due to aging population, the influence of the elderly on the overall economy is increasingly significant. Individuals are also expected to spend a longer period in old age. However, cognitive decline associated with aging is inevitable for many people. In a society characterized by aging and longevity, the number of people experiencing cognitive decline is expected to rise, which will have significant implications for the economy and society.
This paper examines the impact of cognitive decline on the socio-economic aspects and explores policy responses from the perspective of “financial gerontology”.
