Dementia from the viewpoint of nutrition

Nutrition and dietary components play a significant role of health outcome including dementia. Several lines of evidence have suggested whole diets rather than individual nutrients were more closely associated with incidence of dementia, possibly because of the cumulative beneficial effects of multiple ingredients in foods. Use of advanced technologies for assessment of nutrition and dietary intake by digital biomarkers and recently identified biomarkers by using plasma amino acid profiles have emerged. Future nutrition-based research will provide an opportunity for preventing and modifying dementia by personalized nutritional and dietary interventions.
