The results of examinations and diagnoses, including biomarkers, may have a significant impact on the later lives of the patients and their families.@Nevertheless, disclosure often ends up with one-sided explanations at the convenience of the discloser.
This paper provides an overview of the various challenges associated with disclosure, especially from the perspective of patients and their families.
The basic assumptions, methods, and implications are reviewed in terms of gRights,h gCommunication,h and gEngagement,h respectively.
