Primary age-related tauopathy （PART） and senile dementia of the neurofibrillary tangle type （SD-NFT）

Primary age-related tauopathy （PART） is a pathological term that indicates the presence of NFT in the medial temporal lobe without deposition of amyloid β protein （Aβ）.　It has been confirmed that senile dementia of the neurofibrillary tangle （SD-NFT） is dementia due to PART pathology and that PART pathology is one of pathological backgrounds underlying suspected non-Alzheimer disease （AD） pathophysiology （SNAP）.　Furthermore, it is suggested that PART pathology would be a part of AD pathology in patients with common late-onset AD.
