First, the people with dementia is especially vulnerable to COVID-19 infection because they are elderly and sometimes live together in nursing home. Second, inhibition of daily activities and inert lifestyle tend to cause worsening of dementia. Third, if dementia patients are infected with COVID-19 virus, they may encounter difficulties in prevention of secondary virus transmission, because the people with dementia may have no considerations for mask wearing and washing hands.
