The dementia prevention programmes with several leisure activities

    The dementia prevention programmes with several leisure activities developed by the Ajimu project (1) is intended for aged people with normal health or Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) residents, (2) ensures that all members involved in the programme are fully aware that these activities are meant for dementia prevention, (3) is protected thoroughly by facilitators, (4) appreciates the social networks created among members, (5) carries out small group activities that generates one’s creativity and inventiveness, as well as aerobic exercises compulsory for all members, (6) is evaluated regularly by universities, and at times, studies new knowledge in dementia prevention, (7) involves the professional support for members in the initial stages, however, it ensures that each of these individuals become gradually independent.
    By improving the cognitive reserve, these programmes can potentially prevent the outbreak of dementia.  Our country must therefore immediately conduct the designation and inspection of such programmes in multicenter clinical trials.
