Expectations for cognitive function testing using digital devices
Atsushi Iwata
Department of Neurology, Tokyo Metropolitan Geriatric Hospital
The COVID-19 pandemic has spurred the development of non-face-to-face cognitive function tests. These are expanding into a variety of areas, ranging from conventional cognitive function tests performed on PCs, tablets, and smartphones, to completely new data that can be obtained without awareness using a variety of sensors. It is expected that the digital biomarkers obtained by these methods will develop to capture even the slightest decline in cognitive function in the future.
